Evidence-based health

The evidence

Up to 14 extra years

Five low-risk lifestyle habits, ~120,000 adults followed for 30+ years.

Li et al., Circulation 2018

~45% of dementia cases

Linked to modifiable risk factors we can actually work with.

Lancet Commission, 2020/2024

~90% of first heart attacks

Explained by nine modifiable factors across 52 countries.

INTERHEART, Lancet 2004

~7% is genetic

Only about 7% of life expectancy is set by your genes. The rest is in play.

Correlation is not causation. The figures come from large observational studies and randomised trials as referenced; individual results vary.
